The Steam Railway Cottage is ideal for steam train enthusiasts, walkers, cyclists and people who love the beauty of the East Coast. There are miles and miles of open countryside to be explored.

The cottage has been recently (January 2007) renovated with new carpets, curtains, bed linen and most kitchen appliances. It has gas (bottle gas) central heating and instant hot water. The cottage is fully double glazed.

Our cosy self catering cottage has 4 bedrooms and sleeps 5 adults comfortably. There is one double bedroom and 3 single bedrooms. There is bathroom, shower and toilet on the top floor.
The living room has beam ceilings and an open coal fire. There is a huge kitchen with a large farmhouse kitchen table.

There is plenty of parking outside although some restriction apply during peak season. The nearby Grosmont Railway has 24 hour car parking (charge of £2:50/day April 2007) is the safest and best place to park.

The Steam Railway Cottage is in the heart of North York Moors National Park and 100 yards from the Grosmont Steam Railway Station.

Take the Whitby Road from Pickering (A169) towards Whitby. When you are about 6 miles from Whitby follow the signs to Grosmont. As you enter the village of Grosmont, the country roads are very steep and at the bottom of the valley there is the Steam Train Station and The Tavern Pub. The CO-OP grocery shop is opposite. The Steam Railway Cottage is 100 yards from the Grosmont Steam Railway Station.
